Apple TV has big plans for its Legendary Monsterverse, and the new Godzilla spinoff adds some Hollywood heavyweights.

The Legendary Monsterversehas just gotten a titan-sized casting announcement. Apple TV's upcoming series has added three Hollywood stars as series regulars.

Deadline reports that Ant-Man's Corey Stoll, The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Ralph Ineson and Casual's Nyasha Hatendi have joined Apple TV's upcoming series. Character details remain under wraps at this time, though it has been confirmed they will appear in regular roles alongside Wyatt Russell as Young Lee Shaw. Apple TV & Legendary's New Monsterverse Series Confirms Exciting Cast Additions

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' Joby Harold will serve as showrunner for the series. Details about its plot reveal that it will follow Colonel Lee Shaw (Russell), "an American operative who, in 1984, went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War."

Russell's father, legendary actor Kurt Russell, played the same role in his later years for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The show's multiple timelines saw Kurt playing the older version, while Wyatt's storyline explored the younger version of Lee Shaw who founded Monarch.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters debuted on Apple TV back in 2023 to positive reviews. A second season premiered earlier this year. It marks the second TV series in the Monsterverse franchise and follows the events of 2014's Godzilla film.

In Legacy of Monsters, members of the Monarch organization encounter Godzilla and other monsters called Titans, over the course of half a century. Anna Sawai and Ren Watabe starred as half-siblings Cate and Kentaro Randa, leading the show as they investigate their missing father Hiroshi's connection to the Monarch organization.

The upcoming Apple TV Monsterverse series is but a small part in the expanding franchise. Deadline reports that Harold is developing "multiple new series set within [its] evolving universe." They will reportedly feature new and fan-favorite Titans.
