Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has delivered a significant update on Alisson Becker's future, effectively ending speculation over a potential move away from Anfield this summer.
The Brazilian had reportedly attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League after a proposed move to Juventus failed to materialise earlier in the transfer window. "I'm very happy with the situation we have right now in the goalkeeping area. We have Alisson, we have Giorgi. We are going to send on loan, for example, Armin [Pecsi], keepers that are probably in another phase. The three of them here, Freddie [Woodman] played some games last season. It's a guarantee for us.”

Having arrived from Roma in 2018, the Brazilian is now entering his eighth season at Liverpool, making him one of the club's longest-serving senior players behind Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk. During his time at Anfield, he established himself as one of the world's finest goalkeepers, winning every major honour available at club level, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Club World Cup.
Although injuries have interrupted his rhythm over the past few seasons, Alisson continues to be regarded as Liverpool's undisputed No. 1, with Mamardashvili viewed as an understudy rather than an immediate successor.
From his comments, it looks likely that the new Red boss is more than happy to keep Woodman as his third-choice between the sticks after a he was called upon for 3 Premier League games last season and was more than competent.
His leadership has become even more valuable following the departures of several experienced figures. With Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson both leaving the club this summer, Liverpool have lost two key members of their leadership group, placing even greater responsibility on players such as Van Dijk, Gomez and Alisson to guide Iraola's evolving squad. The Brazilian could even emerge as a leading candidate to become the club's next vice-captain.
Alisson also showed he remains capable of performing on the biggest stage during this summer's World Cup. Despite Brazil suffering a surprise last-16 exit to Norway, the veteran goalkeeper produced 14 saves and kept two clean sheets across five appearances, demonstrating that he still possesses the quality to perform at the highest level.
With Iraola publicly backing both his ability and his leadership, it appears Liverpool's goalkeeping hierarchy is settled, and Alisson will once again lead the Reds between the posts when the new season begins.
