Construction is set to begin this fall on a Walmart Super Center in Alvarado this fall, according to a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The permit shows the store will be on eight acres at northwest corner of Interstate 35W and U.S. 67.
This will be the city’s first Walmart Supercenter.
The Walmart is set to be 174,578 ft, and will cost over $12 million. Construction will begin in November and is expected to be completed by November 2027.
