A 40-year-old Leesburg man was arrested and charged after a man overdosed at a prison in Cumberland County, authorities announced Thursday, July 16.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2005, Ryan Marsh overdosed at Bayside State Prison in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. Alfed Bishop gave a synthetic cannabinoid to Marsh in exchange for cash, Webb-McRae said. Marsh passed away after injecting the drug, Webb-McRae said.
Ashley Dawley, a 20-year-old Camden resident received payments for the drugs on behalf of Marsh, Webb-McRae said.
Bishop was charged with strict liability drug induced death, multiple drug offenses, money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering, Webb-McRae said. Dawley is charged with money laundering, Webb-McRae said.
