Julia Hart accidentally strikes Skye Blue during AEW Women’s World Tag Team title match
The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship match saw Divine Dominion’s Megan Bayne and Lena Kross defend their titles against Sisters of Sin, consisting of Julia Hart and Skye Blue.
With the No Disqualification stipulation in play, the challengers quickly introduced weapons into the contest. Julia Hart grabbed a screwdriver with the apparent intention of using it against the champions. However, amid the fast-paced action, she accidentally struck Skye Blue instead.
The blow left Blue bleeding from her forehead, turning a planned offensive move into a painful case of friendly fire. If there was ever a reminder that hardcore wrestling can cut both ways, this was it.
Despite the setback, Sisters of Sin continued fighting. They put Megan Bayne through a table before regrouping in the ring and coming close to capturing the championships with a series of tandem attacks.
The momentum shifted again when Bayne chokeslammed Skye Blue off the apron and through a table, taking her out of the closing stretch. Hart battled on alone, even locking Bayne in an octopus hold, but the champions found another answer.
Divine Dominion ultimately retained the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship after delivering a double spinebuster to Julia Hart for the pinfall.
The accidental screwdriver strike proved to be one of the match’s defining moments, as the challengers were never fully able to recover from the mistake. While Sisters of Sin showed plenty of resilience throughout the bout, one mistimed swing may have been the opening Divine Dominion needed to keep the gold. In a No DQ match, every weapon is a double-edged sword - and this one came back to haunt the challengers.
