Tulsa International Airport announced plans for a new factory on industrial land, near the new control tower at the airfield.
Park Aerospace manufactures composite materials used for aerospace parts and is a supplier to several companies in Tulsa, such as Nordam and Boeing, according to Daniel Regan, the Director of Business Development for Tulsa Airports.
"They're really well renowned in the space defense, aerospace industry," said Regan.
The publicly traded company operates a manufacturing hub in Newton, Kansas, and was founded in New York. Regan said the plans call for 100 employees in the first phase of factory operations, in either late 2028 or early 2029. Construction on the $65 million factory is expected to start quickly, said Regan, on 18 acres of land outside the security perimeter at Tulsa International.
The deal was finalized in London by state officials. Airport officials said the new factory adds another piece to a Tulsa manufacturing supply chain, beginning with raw materials to final assembly.
