The Green Bay Packers entered the postseason picture last year as one of the NFC’s top contenders, but their season took a dramatic turn as injuries began affecting key areas of the roster. With several impact players forced out of action, Green Bay was unable to overcome the setbacks and saw its playoff run end in disappointing fashion after a late collapse against the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round.

The Packers welcome the new season with renewed optimism after seeing key pieces return to full health. With impact players like Tucker Kraft and Micah Parsons expected back on the field, Green Bay has the talent and depth to once again be viewed as one of the NFC’s most complete teams.

The biggest factor in Green Bay’s championship hopes will likely be the play of Jordan Love. The Packers quarterback endured an up-and-down 2025 campaign filled with both impressive moments and frustrating stretches. However, Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr pointed to some advanced statistics from Love’s season that could indicate a much stronger performance is coming in 2026.

Jordan Love, set for a huge season with the Green Bay Packers

“He finished last season with the lowest bad-throw percentage of his career (in a full-season sample size). His percentage of on-target throws was also a career high. He ranked third in down-to-down efficiency behind only Drake Maye and the EPA god, Brock Purdy,” the NFL analyst wrote.

“His completion percentage over expectation was better than Josh Allen’s. All of this is to say that Love is set up to start the season on a monster run, with the Packers likely to be favorites in their first four games.”

The concerns surrounding Jordan Love have never centered around his physical abilities. The Packers quarterback possesses elite arm strength and has continued to develop throughout his career, improving each season despite remaining one of the NFL’s most debated and scrutinized players.

Green Bay has prioritized building a consistent group of targets around Jordan Love, making sure key playmakers such as Christian Watson and Jayden Reed remain part of the offense for the future. Tucker Kraft could soon follow with a new contract of his own, giving Love even more continuity heading into 2026 and a strong opportunity to put together a breakout season.
