Central Kentucky residents have known for years a Hollywood star lives among them.
But they may not have known where Steve Zahn likes to eat.
The actor, known for roles in “The White Lotus,” “That Thing You Do!” and the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” franchise, told People magazine that his favorite restaurant in Kentucky is Holly Hill Inn.
Zahn’s answer was part of People’s “Best of America” series where they asked celebrities their favorite local eateries and landmarks. Holly Hill Inn is known as the flagship restaurant of chef Ouita Michel, serving a menu made with local ingredients from local farmers.
He told People he loves the Midway fine dining spot for its “locally sourced Southern charm. I’ll meet you on the front porch for a cocktail.”
Zahn has had roots in the area for years. He lives near Holly Hill Inn in Georgetown, and in May his son opened a downtown Midway coffee shop.
Besides being a frequent diner of Holly Hill Inn, Zahn and his wife, Robyn Peterman-Zahn, helped produce an eight-part docuseries, “You Belong Here.” The series tells the story of Kentucky’s rich culture through the eyes of Michel, who has owned Holly Hill Inn for 25 years.
