A24’s ‘Mother Mary’ sets HBO streaming premiere for August

One of A24‘s most anticipated films of the year is heading to HBO.

Mother Mary will make its streaming debut on HBO beginning August 21, giving audiences a chance to catch David Lowery‘s (The Green Knight, A Ghost Story) acclaimed musical drama from home.

The film stars Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables, The Devil Wears Prada) as the iconic pop star Mother Mary, who reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer, Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel; I May Destroy You, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), as long-buried wounds resurface on the eve of her highly anticipated comeback performance.

The ensemble cast also includes Hunter Schafer (Euphoria, Cuckoo), Atheena Frizzell (The Order), Kaia Gerber (Bottoms), Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Alba Baptista (Warrior Nun), Isaura Barbé-Brown (The Strays), Sian Clifford (Fleabag), and FKA twigs (The Crow).
