Around 20 LEGO sets themed after Nintendo games and properties are becoming forever unavailable after being retired from the official store next week. LEGO is releasing a massive wave of new sets on August 1, and while this is a good reason to celebrate for new and old fans alike, it also means that a lot of currently available sets are being retired. Accompanying every release wave is usually a retirement wave, with the "Retiring Soon" section of the LEGO website being filled to the brim with some great sets that won't come back once they're gone.
Many LEGO Pokemon sets will launch on August 1, 2026, alongside sets from other properties. These will likely be some of the most sought-after sets of the year so far, and the hype generated by these new releases may overshadow the fact that a lot of sets are being removed from the store. In fact, well over 100 sets are leaving the LEGO store next Friday, and about 1/6th of those are all Nintendo sets.
Say Goodbye to 20 Nintendo LEGO Sets on July 31
July 31, 2026, will mark a sad day for LEGO Nintendo fans, as 20 kits are retiring from those dedicated to Nintendo IPs. These include Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda LEGO sets. Some of these sets are currently available on the official LEGO website, but since they are retiring, it's only while supplies last. This means that some sets may already be gone before July 31, whereas others may linger in availability past that date. However, once gone, these sets are unlikely to return — and even if they do, it'll be a long time. The sets include:

The list of all LEGO sets retiring on July 31, 2026, is pretty huge. Other than Nintendo games and properties in general, one of the IPs with the most losses is Star Wars. 13 Star Wars sets are leaving the LEGO store next Friday, and some of them are very popular sets among fans. Others are still unique, with very few alternatives for similar builds, if any.
On top of that, LEGO's Dungeons & Dragons set is leaving the store for good on July 31. This one may sting even more, as it's the one and only collaboration between D&D and LEGO so far. However, the original creator of the set shared a custom LEGO D&D Red Dragon's Tale alternative build for free, and it can be paired with the original.
Perhaps one of the worst hits is that LEGO's Zelda 2-in-1 Deku Tree set is retiring. This set has been a smashing success among fans, and it's one of the very few sets for Zelda games. It even spawned multiple custom builds dedicated to other Zelda games and different properties entirely. It's one of the most versatile and well-done sets in the current catalog, and it will be sad to see it go on July 31.
