So Yeon Ryu and husband Matthew Jung welcomed a son earlier this month.

Two-time major champion and former No. 1 So Yeon Ryu has announced the birth of her first child. Ryu and husband Matthew Jung welcomed a son earlier this month.

"Love beyond words," Ryu wrote on Instagram.

Ryu wed Jung in 2025 in a gorgeous ceremony at the luxurious Shilla Hotel in South Korea.

The now 36-year-old retired in 2024 with six LPGA titles, including a pair of majors at the 2011 U.S. Women's Open and 2017 ANA Inspiration. Since leaving the tour, Ryu has worked in TV and helped the Korea Golf Association improve its national program.

Ryu met Jung on a blind date.
