Charlie Woods will be in a playoff Wednesday morning at the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur with a spot in match play on the line.
The son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods fired an even-par 70 round Tuesday at Saucon Valley's Grace Course in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which put him at 5 over for the championship. He was 6 over after 5 holes during Monday's round, meaning he played his last 31 holes of stroke play in 1 under.
Only the top 64 players advance to match play, so Woods will be in a playoff Wednesday morning at Saucon Valley's Grace Course with a chance to punch his ticket into the knockout portion of the championship. The playoff will be a 14-for-2, meaning only two players out of 14 can earn spots into match play. It will begin at 7 a.m. ET Wednesday on the Grace Course Nos. 1, 15 and 18. They will repeat the loop if more holes are required.
Woods missed the cut in his first two appearances at the U.S. Junior. His dad is the only player to win three U.S. titles, taking them consecutively from 1991-93.
Woods turned in 33 after a pair of birdies and an eagle on the par-4 13th on Tuesday, but a pair of back-nine bogeys put him on the cut line. The playoff will continue Wednesday morning until play is complete.
To qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur, Woods won a 2-for-1 playoff last month in Florida.
Fellow Florida State commit Miles Russell, the No. 1 junior in the world, tied for medalist honors at 6 under alongside Sohan Patel and Brayden Jones. Those three will be the top seeds in match play.
As for Woods, he's going to have to earn his way in come Wednesday morning.
