ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police officers are on the scene of a shooting in South St. Petersburg after responding to calls regarding a person shot.
According to preliminary details released by the St. Petersburg Police Department, officers responded to the 4100 block of 12th Avenue South following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to provide immediate care. Police have secured the surrounding block while crime scene investigators and detectives gather physical evidence and search for potential witnesses to determine what led up to the shooting.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, information on their medical status, or details regarding possible suspects. No arrests have been reported at this time.
