PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — A cat lounge and adoption center in Plainville announced Wednesday it will soon be closing its doors. 

Purrfect Lounge, located on Farmington Avenue, said in a social media post that it will permanently close on Sept. 1. 

LIST: Free family-friendly events in New Haven with food, bouncy houses

Purrfect Lounge thanked all its volunteers and patrons for supporting the lounge, saying in part:

“While this chapter is coming to an end, the memories, friendships, and lives touched through Purrfect Lounge will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you for believing in our mission and for being part of our journey. We are forever grateful for this incredible community.”

Purrfect Lounge said that it was able to find homes for more than 250 cats, but still has five cats in need of homes.
