Helohim Nedvaldo Francilme, a 21-year-old Canton resident, was arrested Wednesday morning, according to a statement from Canton police.

At about 2:10 a.m., police responded to a house on Pond View Road after receiving a report that someone had opened a bedroom window from outside, called the victim by her name and grabbed her ankle. The woman kicked at the man and ran from the room, according to police.

Investigators learned that Francilme had tried to contact the victim on social media about an hour before the incident. Francilme was then arrested at his home.

Francilme has been charged with breaking and entering a building during the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, as well as assault and battery.
