Four-star defensive lineman Karlos May has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. May chose Ohio State over the Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles and the Georgia Bulldogs.
May is Ohio State's No. 19 commitment in the class of 2027. The Buckeyes and coach Ryan Day have the nation's No. 7 recruiting class.
May was considered to be one of the top remaining defensive lineman from the class of 2027 prior to his Ohio State commitment. Georgia remained in the mix for the talented big man until his final decision.
May is an elite athlete considering his 6-foot-4, 305 pound frame, and the Alabama native has landed with Ohio State. May choosing the Buckeyes over Georgia is a disappointing loss for the Bulldogs moving forward. Ohio State has already beat out Georgia for other notable defensive recruits including five-star edge rusher DJ Jacobs and four-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou.
The talented defensive lineman is ranked as the No. 120 overall player and the No. 11 defensive lineman from the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the No. 5 player out of Alabama. May has been nothing short of a star at Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama.
May is a big-bodied defensive lineman with excellent mobility. The Ohio State commitment shows upside as a pass-rusher and projects to be a great run stopper.
Georgia will now turn elsewhere in hopes of adding talent from the 2027 class to their defensive front. Georgia has a solid foundation of commitments along the defensive line, but the Bulldogs are always looking for elite defensive line talent.
