A lot of Chiefs fans haven’t, um, fully embraced the idea of the team moving across the state line and playing in Kansas.
The Chiefs released renderings of their planned stadium in Kansas City, Kansas, and there was a mix of excitement and anger. The latter is undoubtedly about the move from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri to Kansas City, Kansas.
Fans shared their thoughts in reactions to the social media posts with photos of the renderings, and here are five things that popped up frequently.
1. Many see the renderings as looking a lot like Arrowhead Stadium.
“It’s Arrowhead with a glass roof,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “I actually like it.”
2. The Chiefs included images of cars, undoubtedly to show tailgating will be preserved.
“Really digging it. More importantly, keeping the tailgating alive and the capacity near what it is now,” a fan wrote on X.
3. Many wondered how loud it will be in the new stadium.
Arrowhead is in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the loudest. Chiefs fans cherish that record.
The Chiefs said the news stadium will be built for noise.
“Can it hold in noise the way Arrowhead does now is the real question,” a fan wrote.
4. Why not a retractable roof?
Fans think a retractable roof would be a great feature, but it won’t be the case. However, others love the glass roof.
“Will forever want Arrrowhead stadium and nothing will beat that for me. But this is the future of stadiums whether we like it or not,” a fan wrote. “The retractable roof would have been my preferred choice though.”
5. A longshot hope for spiral walkways
World Cup fans learned just how fun that can be after a game, and Chiefs fans think it’s a big part of their gameday experience.
“Spiral walkways with unnecessary cladding we can bang on before and after the game or I’m out,” one wrote.

“Just wish that roof was retractable ... or even better ... not there at all,” a fan wrote on Reddit.
“This kinda kicks (butt), the ring of honor placement is cool as hell too,” a fan wrote.
Another shared this: “It looks way better than I thought it would be. So glad they went with a clear roof than a standard closed roof.”
