Four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole has committed to the Florida State Seminoles, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. Poole chose the Seminoles over the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, Poole is a talented safety who remained as a top target for the Bulldogs until the end of his recruitment process. Poole should be an excellent fit in the Seminoles’ class of 2027 secondary. The rising star decided that FSU was the best fit over both Georgia and Tennessee. Georgia was one of the favorites to land the talented safety prior to his announcement, but Poole will now look to dominate at Florida State next season nonetheless.
Poole is one of the top overall safeties from his class. The rising star is ranked as the No. 4 safety and the No. 64 overall player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the No. 5 overall player out of Georgia as well, as Poole has been a superstar during his career at Howard High School in Macon.
Georgia will pivot elsewhere in hopes of adding talent to the secondary following Poole’s announcement. A handful of defensive talent from the 2027 class remains uncommitted. The Bulldogs recently landed a commitment from fellow four-star defensive back Adryan Cole, who is the Dawgs' lone defensive back commitment in the 2027 cycle.
