One of the highest-profile recruits left in the 2027 class is set to come off the board in the near future, and it's starting to become clear where his landing spot might be.
Later this week, 5-star running back David Gabriel Georges is set to announce his college commitment, picking between the Ole Miss Rebels, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Tennessee Volunteers. On Monday, On3's Pete Nakos officially logged a prediction for Gabriel Georges to land in the SEC, with Josh Heupel and the Volunteers.
Gabriel Georges stands at 6-foot, 205 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 10 player in the 2027 class, and the No. 2 RB in the nation. He is expected to be the most expensive RB prospect in recruiting history, projected to be the first $1 million RB recruit in the NIL era.
"Sources in Knoxville remain ultra-confident they can land Gabriel Georges," Nakos writes. "Ohio State sources believe they remain in the hunt, but are not as confident as previously. The Vols still have the highest NIL offer on the table, sources said. On3’s Chris Low reported Tennessee’s compensation package for Gabriel Georges is a three-year deal in the $2 million range annually."
Gabriel Georges' announcement will come on Wednesday, July 22, aired on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube Channel.
