Former Texas A&M wide receiver Demond Demas has found his new home, committing to the Virginia State Trojans. Demas signed with Texas A&M in 2020 as a five-star prospect.
Demas redshirted in 2020, playing in four games. He cracked the rotation in 2021, playing in nine games and making six starts before an injury ended his season. He finished the season with 15 catches for 235 yards and one touchdown. He had the best game of his career against New Mexico, catching two passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.
That was his last season with Texas A&M, as multiple off-field incidents caused him to sit out the 2022 season and eventually enter the transfer portal. He wound up spending the 2023 season at Garden City Community College, where he played in eight games and did not record a statistic.
He did not play during the 2024 or 2025 seasons before committing to Virginia State ahead of the 2026 season. The Trojans went 6-4 last season, going 4-3 in conference games. They averaged 27.5 points per game and 265.0 receiving yards per game.
