Becca Tobin is officially a mom of two!

The Glee alum, 40, announced the arrival of her second baby, daughter Meyer June Martin, with husband Zach Martin on Thursday, July 23, on an episode of The LadyGang podcast, which she taped live from the hospital.

During the episode, Tobin explained to her co-hosts Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek that her surrogate Katie went to the hospital on Saturday night to induce labor because she was experiencing preeclampsia, which is a complication of pregnancy.

Tobin explained that the baby came early, as she was due on Aug. 26 but arrived on July 19, making the baby 5½ weeks early.

When Tobin announced that she was expecting her second baby in April, she said the baby was due at the end of the summer.

Because of her early arrival, the baby will spend two to six weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), but is doing “good,” according to Tobin.

The delivery process was also extra special for Tobin as she got to take part in it.

“The doctor or midwife looks at me, and she goes, ‘Do you want to deliver your baby?’ And I was like, ‘Um, yes,’ “ recalled Tobin. “So she then hands me her gloves. I put on her gloves. I stand at the bottom, and she’s like, ‘There’s her head,’ and I put my hand on the head; suddenly Katie does not even push. She just sort of like something happens. This baby comes sliding out, and me and the midwife are like holding the baby.”

Tobin revealed that the baby’s umbilical cord had been wrapped around her twice, but “she was fine.” The overnight nursing staff also stayed past the end of their shift to watch the delivery.

The baby arrived at 7:24 a.m. weighing 5 lbs., 9 oz. and currently has a feeding tube, which Tobin explained is “normal because swallowing is like one of the last skills that comes and it’s like one of the most exhausting things.”

Tobin then shared the backstory behind the baby’s name, Meyer June Martin.

“So we were like, we’re doing a family name,” shared Tobin. “I knew that I wanted to use June as a middle name. That was my grandmother that I was incredibly close to. And then my grandmother’s dad, my great-grandfather, his name is Meyer, and it means bringer of light in Hebrew.”

Because the baby came early, Tobin went back and forth on options until a nurse convinced her that Meyer was the way to go.
