My mom’s 40+ years of travel experience trained me to never check a bag at the airport. The trick is in the bags you take on the plane — previously, a carry-on suitcase or backpack for me, but not anymore.

This bag has completely transformed how I travel (and though I can’t speak for Moore, I’m sure she appreciates the same benefits). The five internal pockets keep all of my belongings organized and easy to access on the plane. I also appreciate the smaller external pocket for quickly slipping my iPhone into when going through airport security. 

It has a bit of a Mary Poppins effect, too: On my trip, I was able to fit my MacBook, phone and laptop chargers, wallet, two books, vitamins, a water bottle, snacks, a pair of overhead headphones, and a light jacket. Plus, the built-in clip securely held my house keys, and kept me from having to dig around the bottom while in-flight.

If there’s one thing this bag isn’t lacking, it’s pockets: There are two front ones, a secret back one that can fit an iPad, a main pocket, and a smaller interior compartment.
