WWE’s Braun Strowman just walked into Amazon Studios, and God of War fans are losing it. The former strongman champion may have revealed more than he intended with a series of posts on X.

Former WWE wrestler and strongman champion Braun Strowman appears to be campaigning for the role of Kratos in Amazon’s God of War series. Strowman, whose real name is Adam Scherr, posted a series of teases on X shortly after Ryan Hurst’s bicep injury forced a recasting of the lead role.
Scherr shared a photo of himself in full Kratos-style makeup and costume on July 18. He captioned the post “Just gonna leave this here!!!” alongside the hashtags #ImHim and #Kratos. The post quickly gained traction, racking up over 135,000 views and nearly 8,000 reposts.
Hours later, Scherr followed up with an even more suggestive post. He shared a photo of an Amazon production studio visitor pass dated July 15, 2026. The pass displayed his name clearly while other details remained hidden. He captioned the image with a cryptic string of question marks.
The timing of the visit aligns closely with the production’s reported need for a replacement. Hurst suffered his bicep tear earlier in July, and the show aims to resume filming by mid-October. Four episodes had already been completed out of a planned ten-episode first season. Amazon has also committed to a second season, with plans to film both seasons back to back for a total of 20 episodes.
Ronald D. Moore currently serves as showrunner after replacing the original creative team in October 2024. The series follows the Norse mythology era of the God of War games. Moore previously described the show’s tone as focused on “this epic journey” and “this heartfelt journey of these two men setting out to honor the memory of Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother.”
The production has not yet confirmed whether it will reshoot completed episodes or introduce the new actor starting with episode five.
