WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 21
There’s nothing in between the hope and misery, all joy erased by my poorly wired circuitry. Contract and then release, inflame old injuries, overwrite the good I’ve done while rewriting my history. From discord to harmony, the song sang out, and now I’m here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with general manager Robert Stone giving instructions to referee Darryl Sharma that Tony D’Angelo and Naraku not be allowed to touch before tonight’s main event.
Thea Hail rolls off and Stone tries to shrug her off.
Nattie Neidhart rolls up to complain about being forced to wrestle Jaida Parker again and Stone tells her to get to the point so she says she’s gonna end Jaida tonight.
Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno make their entrance ahead of our opening match, joined shortly thereafter by Saquon Shugars.
DarkState make their entrance and it’s on before the bell as Shugars rushes to attack them and Dar and Moreno join him!
DarkState (Cutler James, Dion Lennox, & Osiris Griffin) vs. Noam Dar, Romeo Moreno, & Saquon Shugars
Lennox throws Dar into the ring, we get a bell, Noam rolls him up for two, fakeout haymaker… NO DEAL! Dion blasts him with a boot, tag to Shugars, Lennox runs away and Griffin tags in! Saquon meets him with leg kicks, Stinger Splash, Osiris shoves him away and scoops and slams him! Tag to James, double whip, double back elbow, Cutler talking trash at Saquon’s partners.
Tag to Griffin, slingshot chop block from Shugars, Moreno blind tag, whip reversed, ducking and doging, float over, tag to Dar, flash kick takes Osiris out! Holding court, clearing the apron, stereo Penalty Kicks from the apron! Saquon slides out past them, calls for it, his partners hook Dion but Griffin and James break it up!
Shugars up on the announce desk and Osiris and Cutler Rocket Launcher him into the apron to send us to break!
Back from commercial, hot tag from Shugars, James legal too, wrecking ball dropkick on Lennox because Saquon is laser-focused! Osiris drags him in, but Shugars ducks and dodges and wipes him and Cutler out with a springboard crossbody! Leapfrogging Griffin to the floor, front kick, hooking James, tossing Falcon Arrow to a cartwheel dropkick… DION BREAKS IT UP!
Saquon laying chops in, dropkick sends Lennox to the floor, James cuts him off, blocks a tornado DDT and turns it into a swinging Rock Bottom backbreaker! Uppercut cuts Romeo off, quick tags from DarkState, hoisting Shugars up, Hurricanrana counters the powerbomb, teammates hold the other two back… STILL NO!
Saquon sends his former teammates packing, tag to Moreno, missile dropkick, suicide crossbody from Shugars on Dion, Noam uppercuts Cutler, Romeo off the ropes… HUGE PLANCHA TAKES OSIRIS AND CUTLER OUT! Saquon hooks Lennox… BLU-RAY THROUGH THE WALL! Powerslam from Griffin on Dar, Romeo rolls James up for two but eats a boot afterwards!
Osiris tags in with Moreno isolated…
DarkState win by pinfall with the double powerbomb on Romeo Moreno.
Lizzy Rain is in the locker room saying she didn’t expect this division to be more chaotic than a mosh pit.
Thea Hail rolls up complaining she can’t get a word in with the general manager, Skylar Raye agrees, Jaida Parker kvetches about Nattie Neidhart and Kendal Grey asks if she’s not the reason they have to deal with Nattie in the first place? A little bickering happens, Thea defuses the situation and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair make their entrance, followed shortly after by Lola Vice.
Grey says she would have liked to give somebody else a shot instead of giving Vice her rematch, and Lola says she has to deal with the fact that she’s not done yet, Vice City continues to grow, and she took every setback on the chin and kept moving forward, and she counts of women who came before her and says it was supposed to be her time.
Kendal says she gets it, it was her time but then Lola ran into her. Vice says she remembers when Grey was nervous, shy, overwhelmed, and she was cute, and she remembers Kendal saying that she looked like a champion, and she was right, but when Lola looked at her, she just saw someone who needed validation.
Grey says the title is the validation and she’s not gonna apologize for not needing years in action here to get to it. Vice says she’s right, but with or without the title around her waist, she looks like a champion and she sees a woman who knows her worth while Kendal looks shy, insecure, and vulnerable.
Kendal says you can call her what you like but she comes out here every week and is honest with herself and with the crowd and she doesn’t think there’s a woman in the back who can beat her at her best. Lola says she beat her one time and one time only, and she can beat her in a match but she can’t beat her in a fight.
Sinclair tries to talk Grey down but the champion isn’t having it and says she thinks she knows what Lola is proposing and it’s perfect. Vice says she’ll give her an extra week to train, and on August 4, bring her title and meet her in NXT Underground. Kendal agrees and Lola says she doesn’t sound nervous but she should be because little miss pick-me is gonna have to get picked up off the mat.
Kendal tells Lola that after she’s done kicking her ass, she can go back to shaking it, and they square up in the middle of the ring.
A video package for Naraku vs. Tony D’Angelo follows.
Keanu Carver makes his entrance ahead of our next match, sending us to break.
Back from commercial, Hank and Tank make their entrance and we’re off!
Hank Walker vs. Keanu Carver
Walker hot out the gates, Carver picks him up and stampedes him into the corner but he slips out and lights him up with punches! Hank with a chop in the ropes, whip reversed, Keanu with a back elbow, Walker cuts him off with a knee, hooks him, denied, slings Carver into the ropes, big boot blocked, Hank connects on the second try and he’s fired up!
Carver on dream street, stumbling into the ropes, elbow gets his feet under him, he shrugs off a boot from Walker and kicks him to the floor! Tank Ledger gives him a pep talk and throws him back inside, Bossman Slam… CARVER KICKS OUT! Keanu hosses him up for a ribbreaker, powerdrive elbows, throwing Walker into the ropes for a northern elbow!
Keanu lands a fallaway slam, slow to the cover and Walker kicks out! Carver goes to the floor and throws Tank into the steel steps, leading Hank to dive on him! Checking on his pal, Keanu scoops Walker up but he slips out and puts him into the post! Back inside, Hank off the ropes, big spin-out elbow connects!
Walker headed up top, nobody home on the diving lariat… AND KEANU HITS THE POUNCE!
Keanu Carver wins by pinfall with the Shouten.
Post-match, Carver puts boots to Walker and Ledger rushes in and saves his pal! Keanu cuts Tank off on the floor and slams him into the announce desk! Carver grabs the steel steps… EK PROSPER COMES THROUGH THE CROWD, CUTS HIM OFF, AND DOUBLE STOMPS HIM INTO THE STEEL STEPS!
Carver sent back inside, Hank and Tank double body check him, assisted powerslam, and Prosper comes off the top for the exclamation point on Keanu!
Nattie Neidhart, Karmen Petrovic, and Nikkita Lyons roll up on Thea Hail backstage.
Nattie says she can be a legend like her or a little bitch like Jaida Parker, but Hail says she kinda likes Jaida but doesn’t like any of them very much. The heel stable scoffs and walks off sending us to break.
