AI? Former UFC champ unrecognizable in stunning new makeover and fight fans are shook

Former UFC strawweight champion, Zhang Weili, just had a professional makeover.

The 115-pound powerhouse, who holds victories over former champions Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Carla Esparza, and Jessica Andrade, among others, shared a video of her new look on Instagram and fight fans were so rattled by the transformation that some of them were insisting the results were aided by artificial intelligence.

“There was a professional makeup artist who taught me to apply makeup,” Zhang said.

The 36-year-old Zhang (26-4) vacated her 115-pound title to try her luck at flyweight. Unfortunately, “Magnum” was outclassed by reigning 125-pound champion Valentina Shevchenko in the UFC 322 co-main event last fall in New York and has yet to make her return to the cage. In her absence, Mackenzie Dern captured the vacant strawweight crown.

Hopefully the former champ can find her way back to the Octagon before the end of the year. If so, Dern will be “prepared.”
