Naturally, the responses — which were equal parts concerning and relatable — went viral. We shared a few of the most popular ones here, but there were so many more in the comments that needed more discussion:

1."That we don't pee out of our vagina. 🙄 We need to bring back actual sex education in our schools."

2."I had to teach my ex that a migraine and a headache were soooo not the same thing. It took his mother chiming in to make him believe it 🙄."

3."Not my boyfriend, but my male friend, I had to explain to him that pads stick to the UNDERWEAR, not the skin. He thought that you put the sticky part on your skin and called it a day. In his defense, he is gay and has never seen a vagina, but still, buddy….come on, you're better than that. I also had to remind him that women have pubic hair and that that would be like ripping off a Band-Aid, but in a way more sensitive area. When he actually took two seconds to think about it, he felt like such an idiot. 😂"

6."During quarantine my roommate started to cook more because everything was closed. One day I was in the kitchen as he was trying to make a meal following an online recipe. I heard him struggling with step one. He was trying to peel an onion using a vegetable/potato peeler. I had to show him how to peel and cut an onion. He was 41."

7."Not me, but my sister-in-law had to teach my brother how to do laundry at like 24 years old. He was looking for his work uniform, which he was told was in the dryer. He went to retrieve it and grabbed an armful of laundry, exclaiming, 'It's still all wet!' That's because he got the clothes out of the washer...."

"Yes, at 24 years old, he did not know the difference between the washer and dryer. The good news is that he now does laundry often for the family, cooks, cleans, etc, and generally pulls his weight around the house. Yes, my parents failed him."

8."That prescription birth control pills do not work like Plan B or any other emergency contraceptive. I dated a guy who thought you took a pill when you were planning to have sex, and that would prevent fertilization/implantation. He didn't understand that you had to take it every single day at the same time every day to prevent ovulation, so you're not releasing the egg in the first place. He was shocked to find out how responsible and careful you have to be with those pills, and how easy it can be for them to fail."

9."I knew a guy who thought women all got their periods during the full moon. His hippy dippy mom used to call it her 'moon time', so he built his assumption from there. I stuttered, 'Uh, no, that's—that's, uh, werewolves, dude.'"

15."I was in my 20s, went on a couple of dates with a guy who was 33 at the time. Before sleeping with him, I asked him when was the last time he got checked for STDs (I was going to use multiple forms of protection, but was checking for safety). He had no idea what sexually transmitted diseases were. I sat him down and had 'the talk.' I also explained how, in general, diseases and viruses are spread."

"He didn't seem to catch on that someone sneezing on you could give you a cold, or that exchanging other bodily fluids could give you many illnesses, including sexually transmitted diseases. We did not sleep together. In fact, he called me the next day after getting tested, and said he caught one...from me. It inspired me to write a book, though, so young people have the correct information on their health. Hopefully, I'll publish one day."

16."That not all pills are chewable, after he complained about how bad gelcaps taste once you bite in to them. He was 26 at the time."

—Anonymous, 40, Virginia

And lastly:

17."One time, one of my male fellow medical students asked if you could just put a speculum into someone during a pelvic exam (the plastic or cold metal thing that pinches during a pap). The female medical student had to explain with horror that, no, you in fact have to use lube. You can't just stick things in people's bodies dry. I felt so bad for his wife."

I am simply...stunned. Do you have any others to share? I'm so sorry if so, but let us know in the comments so we can all commiserate together.
