Cinema has been soooo back lately!

Sometimes it takes years for a movie to cement itself as a beloved classic. Other times, a film doesn’t need decades to make an impact and prove it’s a force to be reckoned with.

It’s safe to say there are even some films from the last 5 years that people would already consider on their way to becoming modern classics.

As someone with an AMC A-List subscription who visits the movies A LOTTTTT, I already have a strong feeling that there are several movies from the last 5 years that many would consider not far from becoming classics.

So, now I need to know your opinions! What is a movie from the last 5 years that you can already see becoming a classic?

Maybe you think Barbie (2023) is already an instant classic because of the cultural discussions that took place after the movie dropped, surrounding toxic masculinity and the messiness that comes with being a human.

Or maybe you would already consider Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022) a certified movie classic because of the heartfelt way it tackled generational trauma and the relationship between mothers and daughters.

Maybe you think Obsession (2026) and Sinners (2025) are already classics because of how they've transcended the boundaries of other classic horror films. With Curry Barker and Ryan Coogler behind the camera, they’re demonstrating how horror can be just as culturally significant as other film genres, and you find that inspiring to watch.

Or maybe you’re like me and are a huge fan of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) because the animation is groundbreaking, especially in an era where animators are being pushed aside, and AI is trying to take over.
