Wizards of the Coast Officially Reveals Retailer Dates for Magic: The Gathering - Star Trek

Wizards of the Coast has revealed when Magic: The Gathering players will be able to purchase cards from the Star Trek crossover set in 2026.

The Star Trekset for Magic: The Gatheringis set to beam up in November 2026, but fans will be able to access cards earlier, as Wizards of the Coast has revealed the retailer dates for when packs will be available.

Magic: The Gathering has had many crossovers with different franchises, some of which have resulted in a handful of Secret Lair cards, while others have been spread across multiple Commander Decks. Some franchises are so big that they demand lots of cards to contain all of their iconic characters, which is why Star Trek is receiving a dedicated set, as it'll feature heroes, villains, ships, and planets from nearly every season and movie.

The official release date for the Magic: The Gathering Star Trek set is November 13, 2026, but those willing to visit brick-and-mortar stores will be able to play it earlier. The full dates for the Star Trek launch are now available on the official Wizard Play Network website, letting shops know when to prepare.

Magic: The Gathering Arena fans will also be able to jump into the Star Trek set early, as cards will be added to the online game on November 10. Unlike some franchises, Star Trek cards will be featured with their original characters in Magic: The Gathering Arena, meaning they can battle the likes of creatures from the Final Fantasy and Marvel Super Heroes sets.

Star Trek Is Closing Out A Massive Year For Magic: The Gathering

2026 has been a massive year for Magic: The Gathering crossovers, with Marvel Super Heroes and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as The Hobbit launching in August. Star Trek will be the final crossover of the year, though fans are expecting more to arrive in 2027. The Universes Beyond crossovers have been some of the most popular Magic: The Gathering sets to date, so more are likely on the way.

Whatever crossovers arrive in Magic: The Gathering in the future, they'll struggle to excite the fans as much as Star Trek. Any nerds who were kicking around in the early '90s will remember how big both franchises were back when Magic: The Gathering first launched, and it's still mind-blowing to see them crossing over after all this time. The wait until November is going to be difficult, but it'll be worth it once the Federation is battling Klingons throughout the multiverse in cardboard form.
