Magic: The Gathering officially reveals its most unexpected crossover yet

One of the most iconic cozy games of all time has teamed up with the granddaddy of trading card games for an upcoming collab that's arriving in a few days from now. The brand has teamed up with popular video game franchises many times, and it's doing it once more, with many cards to collect. With the full card lineup now revealed, fans are already planning which cards they'll be chasing when the set launches.

Magic: The Gatheringis an ongoing trading card game that first launched in 1993 and has a sub-brand called Universes Beyond, which technically started in 2020 when it announced its first collaboration with The Walking Dead. However, it became an official name in 2021, allowing Wizards of the Coast to produce cards based on popular TV shows, films, video games, and other forms of media. The most recent entry in Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond is the Marvel Super Heroes set that came out last month, and it recently showed previews of its upcoming Star Trekcollaboration. But as Magic: The Gathering celebrates MagicCon in Amsterdam, it did not shy away from revealing another crossover.

It was announced that Magic: The Gathering will be doing a Secret Lair collaboration with the video game Stardew Valleyvia a superdrop called "Superdrop of the Moonlight Jellies." There will be three sets available for purchase, each containing different cards featuring the game's iconic art, many of which are reprints. The set will be released this month, and only via the MTG Secret Lair website. This isn't the first time Magic: The Gathering has partnered with a video game, as it previously released cards featuring characters from Assassin's Creed,Final Fantasy, Fallout, and Street Fighter, among others.

Other 'Magic: The Gathering' Collabs Have Been Announced at MagicCon Amsterdam

The Stardew Valley superdrop is not the only collaboration that Magic: The Gathering has announced at this year's event. One of the big reveals was a commander deck featuring Japanese Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, and its release date is next month. Additionally, it announced an upcoming collaboration with Masters of the Universe, scheduled for September. Magic: The Gathering has also revealed more Secret Lair releases, featuring more Marvel characters, Lo-fi Girl, and an artist collab, to name a few.

Magic: The Gathering x Stardew Valley's Superdrop of the Moonlight Jellies will be available for order on July 27, 2026, on the Secret Lair website.
