Who will win the 3-point contest? WNBA All-Star prediction

The 2026 WNBA All-Star weekend is quickly approaching, and there is no better way to kick off the weekend than with the 3-point shooting contest.

All the action kicks off in Chicago on Friday, July 24, with a stacked pool of participants. Dallas Wings guard Azzi Fudd, Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard and Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey lead the field of players.

Howard, who participated in the event as a rookie in 2022, and Mabrey, who took part in the 2024 edition, are joined by a host of newcomers: Fudd, Bridget Carleton of the Portland Fire, Natisha Hiedeman of the Seattle Storm and Golden State Valkyries forward Janelle Salaün.

When the event ends, here's who we think will take home the WNBA All-Star 3-point shooting contest crown:

WNBA All-Star 3-point contest participants

• Azzi Fudd, Dallas Wings: Fudd, who has one of the smoothest releases in the WNBA, is top 10 in made 3-pointers this season (50) as a rookie. That's super impressive, and when she gets hot, watch out.
• Rhyne Howard, Atlanta Dream: It's always "Rhy Time", and if there are buckets to be had, Howard is going to make them. Here. There. Three-pointers everywhere. Howard, at 3.2 3-balls per matchup, is a certified basket.
• Marina Mabrey, Toronto Tempo: They don't call Mabrey "Money Mabrey" for nothing. The Tempo guard has been, well, money, from distance this season, averaging a league-leading 3.3 made 3-pointers per game.
• Janelle Salaün, Golden State Valkyries: Salaün doesn't get the reputation of being a 3-point specialist, but she can knock them down with ease. She's used to draining shots from beyond the arc at a nearly 40% clip.
• Bridget Carleton, Portland Fire: Carleton has a knack for hitting big shots, and if they're from the corner, even better. The Fire forward has six games with four or more 3-pointers, including three with six or more.
• Natisha Hiedeman, Seattle Storm: Hiedeman is better known for her ability to get into the paint and score quickly. Still, the Storm guard, who has 57 3-balls this season, is a sneaky shooter who can get hot at any time.

WNBA All-Star 3-point contest prediction

Winner: Marina Mabrey

Mabrey is leading the league in total 3-pointers (82) and made 3-pointers per game (3.3). She's having a breakout year in Toronto after improving her footwork in the offseason, and the results show in her production. She's averaging a career-high 21 points per game and is shooting 39% from 3-point range. Mabrey also has two games this season alone ( June 19, 2026 and June 25, 2026) with nine made shots from deep.

That said, Mabrey should keep an eye out for Howard, who is right behind her in made 3-balls (79) and made shots from behind the arc per game (3.2). Howard is dangerous when she gets on a heater and also has two career games with nine made 3-pointers (June 13, 2025 and September 5, 2025).
