I hunt for and write about exceptional products for a living, and have read thousands of reviews for innumerable goods. That’s all to say that I have read many a gushing review. Yet I have to admit, the volume of exceptional reviews for these quick-dry hiking pants from Baleaf impressed even me. These popular women’s pants are comfy, lightweight and so water-repellent that reviewers recount spilling bottles of water on them and simply watching the water roll off. They are surprisingly stylish, thanks to their adjustable ankle straps that give the option of a more tapered look. In my opinion, most impressive of all is the material’s UPF 50+ sun protection factor, which reviewers swear by for guarding their legs from UV rays. And right now, they’re up to 20% off on Amazon!
Reviewers not only love these comfy pants for hiking, but also say they basically live in them. And they mean it. In addition to being vouched for by hikers and lovers of comfy clothing, folks with tons of different professions and hobbies have added these pants to their daily rotation of staples, including dental hygienists and nurses who use them as scrubs, fly fishers, climbers who zip-line and rappel, office and retail workers, camera operators, people who rehabilitate and groom animals, and construction workers. Some reviewers even dress them up to wear out to dinner.
The women’s pants are available in 18 colors and in sizes XS–3XL. (Note: For the women’s pants, a number of reviewers suggest sizing up.)
Each has deep zippered pockets so you can stash your phone and other hefty items comfortably, then zip them right up to ensure they’re extra secure. As someone who has been unwillingly subjected to women’s pants with either no pockets or insultingly small, shallow pockets, this is nothing short of awesome.
They’re also highly durable, with one reviewer mentioning their pair got caught on an aluminum decking during a construction job, and their pants not only did not rip, but did not even snag. Okay, I’m listening.
According to reviewers, they’re perfect pants to pack for travel since you can roll them up super tight, using up almost no room in your luggage.
The adjustable drawstring waist will help these fit even if you’re feeling bloated or have some fluctuations in weight. And strikingly, folks of all body types love them, including tall, petite and plus size reviewers.
One reviewer’s adult son was so impressed by her pair that he asked if they made them in men’s. Luckily for him, they do.
And finally, reviewers say they also do a great job protecting against mosquitoes, welcome news for many parts of the country!
These pants are exactly what I’ve been looking for, so I’ll be stocking up on a pair or two, too. Read on for what Amazon reviewers have to say and grab them while they’re on sale today.
“I bought these for a backpacking trip in alpine environment (Enchantments in WA State). I didn’t want to spend a fortune on name brand, even though I know it’s a good investment (future things for this single parent). The reviews on these pants were good enough to make me take a chance, and I’m so glad I did!
I’m 5’6 and 180lbs, and I went with the XL in black. I personally love a loose fit in the legs, and I could have absolutely done a Large instead — but I liked the roominess the CL gave while also fitting nicely in the waist! I also like to put my base layer underneath, and they layered well.
Are they super stylish? Nope. Are they comfy? Hell yes. Do they hold up well in the rain? They do! Do I love the pockets? Yessssss! What about the cinch feature at the ankles? I never used it, because it was actually cold and rainy most of my backpacking trip.
I wore these three days in a row and while my body got stanky, the pants didn’t seem to pick that up! They also dry super quickly, which was nice on the trail — I let them hang in a dry spot while changing into my camp pajamas, and they were ready for the next day faster than I expected!
I didn’t notice any significant wrinkling. They seem perfect for packing down in a backpack! The material is soft, the zippers worked well, and overall they are a very versatile pair of pants.
I’ll be getting another pair in the orange!” — Ana
“Light weight, comfortable, sturdy construction, great price, perfect fit―I wear size 14, and size large is spot on. I plan to order more, and, as there is a terrific color range, probably several pairs. These are perfect summer pants, particularly for those of us who want to limit sun exposure (50 SPF) and still stay cool. I absolutely love this first pair.
Edit―I’ve ordered 1 more pair and still adore the 1st which has been machine laundered a couple of times. I can’t think of anything better to stick in a suitcase―very light weight, can be hand washed and dries wrinkleless overnight.
Edit#2―pair #3 was an obvious return from a customer who found the size to be too small―the pockets were unzipped and their were other indications of efforts to squeeze in. I wasn’t happy, but decided to launder these and keep them, as they didn’t appear damaged. They were gray, a bit darker than I expected, but adequate for my needs and comfortable. The size has been consistent through all 3 pairs I have purchased. I continue to really love these pants!!!” — Janet
“These are very comfortable and breathable hiking pants. While I’m not a serious hiker, it was nice to wear these for the easier, family hikes in the national parks. These pants protected my legs from sun, bugs, and the plants we walked around. Also important for use in summer in Texas, Utah, and Arizona, these pants were breathable enough that I didn’t melt wearing them.
I was very happy to confirm that they are not noisy - almost no swishing when I walk. There are lots of pockets (with good sturdy zipper closures) and my phone fit easily into most of them. Oh, and they were easy to pack.
I actually liked these pants so much that I purchased them in two more colors after trying them. These are absolutely worth the price for lightweight hiking pants!” — David Cummings
“I rarely write reviews but I had to for this one. These pants are AMAZING!! They’re better than my Outdoor Research ones from REI. I wish I could return those and buy 3 more pairs of these with the return money! Highly recommend.” — Sally D.
