Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) on Tuesday called Mary Trump, the niece of Donald Trump, a “silver lining” amid her family’s grip on American politics.
She was on Capitol Hill Tuesday, prompting praise from Raskin.
“Mary Trump is a great silver lining in this whole story,” Raskin told MeidasTouch’s Pablo Manriquez. “And she goes to show that nobody from any family is irredeemable. And she’s been such a stalwart in the resistance and opposition to her uncle. And she’s a therapist. And she takes very seriously human psychology and liberating people’s creative faculties. It just makes me really happy every time I get to see Mary Trump. I love her. And she gives me a lot of faith in the future of humanity. “

Mary Trump, author of the bestselling 2020 book “Too Much And Never Enough: How My Family Created The World’s Most Dangerous Man,” has kept up her criticism of the president.
She recently blasted her uncle’s sketchy “real man” credibility, the myth of his “genius” perpetuated by his father, and his desire to name things after himself because of what she believes is an unfulfilled desire to be loved.

“The only thing, the thing he most desperately wants in his life, is to be loved,” said the clinical psychologist (who does not treat the president). “He never has been sufficiently. He never will be. That is an impossible thing for him to achieve.”
In a video with Rep. Becca Balint (D-Vt.) on Tuesday, Mary Trump emphasized the importance of “making it clear that Democrats, when we get back into power, are gonna make real foundational changes to the way we do things so we don’t have to live under the threat of fascism.”
