Wherein we welcome a bright-white Acura Integra Type S into our long-term stable for 40,000 miles of corner-carving good times.

It's time to take the sportiest version of Acura's hatchback for a 40,000-mile spin.

The Integra Type S rides a bit softer than its Honda Civic Type R sibling.

It's a little more powerful than the Honda too, making 320 horsepower against the CTR's 315.

The Integra Type S starts at $52,995, and the only option was a $600 coat of Platinum White Pearl paint.

The final window sticker? $53,595.

After following the prescribed break-in process, we recorded a 5.1-second sprint to 60 mph at the test track.

The Integra Type S traveled around our skidpad at an impressive 1.02 g's.
