YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — An apparent tornado touched down Tuesday evening in northern Youngstown, uprooting trees and causing power outages in Mahoning County.
A video from WKBN Channel 27 shows the suspected tornado touching down at around 6:40 p.m. It also passed through parts of Trumbull County before moving into Lawrence County in Pennsylvania.
WFMJ Channel 21 also obtained videos of the suspected tornado.
The tornado has not been confirmed by the National Weather Service, although a tornado warning was issued for the region Tuesday evening. WFMJ reports the NWS will conduct a tornado survey Wednesday morning.
There was some damage to the roofs of homes and power was knocked out for thousands of customers, but nearly all had been restored by late Tuesday, WFMJ reports. There were no reports of injuries.
