EXCLUSIVE: Vertical has acquired North American rights to Kevin Hamedani's comedic thriller The Saviors following its SXSW premiere for a theatrical release on March 26, 2027.

Tapping into the zeitgeist, the film stars Adam Scott (Hokum) and Danielle Deadwyler (Till) as suburban couple Sean and Kim who want to get divorced.

To raise the money to fix and sell their house and move on separately with their lives, they rent the guest house to a quiet Middle Eastern brother and sister, played by Theo Rossi (Emily the Criminal) and Nazanin Boniadi (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).

When bizarre occurrences begin to add up – mysterious lights, missing animals, glimpses of unexplainable tech – in the days before the President's upcoming visit to town, their guests’ strange behavior starts to seem suspicious and potentially dangerous. As Sean and Kim investigate their new tenants, they rediscover the emotional connection they once shared.

Further cast members include Kate Berlant (Maddie's Secret), Daveed Diggs (The Boys), Ron Perlman (The Capture), Colleen Camp (Euphoria) and Greg Kinnear (Margo's Got Money Troubles).

The Saviors is Hamedani’s third feature after Junk and ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Travis Betz.

"It is a dream to share such a deeply personal film as The Saviors with audiences on the big screen, and I couldn't be more thrilled to partner with Vertical," said Hamedani. "Their bold slate, fearless approach to storytelling, and passion for championing distinctive films make them the perfect home for our movie and I'm thrilled that audiences will be able to experience it in theaters."

The deal was negotiated by Vertical Partner Peter Jarowey and SVP of Acquisitions Tony Piantedosi on behalf of Vertical and by CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group on behalf of the filmmakers.

"We're thrilled to bring The Saviors to theaters next year," said Jarowey. "Kevin and Travis have crafted a sharp, timely script that blends biting humor with edge-of-your-seat suspense. Led by terrific performances from Adam and Danielle and supported by an outstanding ensemble, this is a provocative, entertaining thriller that will leave audiences talking long after the credits roll."

Financed by Highway 10, The Saviors is produced by Matt Smith and Dan Gedman for Highway 10, Nicholas Weinstock and Divya D’Souza for Invention Studios, Naomi Scott and Adam Scott for Great Scott, and Bradley Gallo and Michael Helfant for Amasia and executive produced by Danielle Deadwyler, Alyssa Roehrenbeck and Josh Sathre.

The crew features cinematographer Jon Keng (All That We Love), editors Ben Baudhuin (Drop) and Tom McArdle (Spotlight), costume designer Allison Calhoun (Situations), and production designer Ying-Te Julie Chen (Slanted), with casting by Orly Sitowitz (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) and music by Nick Shadel (Where the Rope Ends) and Kyle O’Quin (Allihopa: The Dalkurd Story).
