Van Arman, Gagel, Turner: Recent death notices from Orange

ORANGE, CT — Condolences are extended to the family and friends of those who have recently died.

Linda Ann Gagel, 76, died July 17. She taught second and third grade in the West Haven school system for years, including at Pagels Elementary and Washington Avenue schools, and later continued substitute teaching in Orange. She is survived by her husband, Charles Gagel, and daughters Victoria Arms and

Jillian Gagel.

John C. Van Arman, 84, died July 17. He served in the U.S. Army, founded the oil business John Van Arman Inc. and later served the Town of Orange as superintendent overseeing municipal buildings and wastewater operations. He was a volunteer firefighter and served as president of the Orange Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Kilfeather Van Arman, and three children.

Frederick R. Turner, 84, died June 28. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era as a military police officer and later worked in quality control at Ansonia Copper & Brass, retiring at 64. He was a four-time past president of the Orange Lions Club and a Living Treasure honoree of Orange. He is

survived by his wife, Leatrice, and two children.

Adrienne Janet Lund, 96, died June 20. She worked as a secretary for the Pond Lilly Company of New Haven and later for American Frozen Foods, and worked part time at Olympic Donuts in Milford after retiring. She is survived by nephews J. Christian Lund and Michael R. Lund and other family.
