Upcoming Bethesda games: every game currently in the works

Here's all the upcoming Bethesda games on the way, from Elder Scrolls to Fallout

The upcoming Bethesda games lineup has just grown following a major update from Bethesda Game Studios.

Following news that Xbox is undergoing a major restructuring " reset" which has sadly seen a large number of layoffs and studio departures, Bethesda put out a big update announcement on future project plans. Not only did it offer some development updates on previously announced big upcoming RPGs yet to come, but it also dropped the news that Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are officially getting remasters.

From a sequel to Skyrim with the next Elder Scrolls game, to new games in the Fallout series, and more, you can find a recap of all the upcoming Bethesda games confirmed so far right here. I've also included an overview of the latest news regarding each of the projects in the entries rounded up below so you can stay up-to-date.

Release date: TBC (potentially 2026)

Over the last decade, Skyrim has enjoyed immense success as one of the best RPGs that's found its way onto almost every platform imaginable over the years. With so much love for Elder Scrolls out there among players, it's no surprise that another installment is in the works. That's right, we are getting The Elder Scrolls 6... eventually.

First announced with a short teaser officially confirming its existence with a title reveal in 2018, very little is known about Elder Scrolls 6. But as the team's main focus has shifted from 2023's Starfield, with the majority of the studio now working to bring us the next Elder Scrolls as of 2026, Bethesda Game Studios put out an update in July 2026 that stated: "The next chapter is on the way. We're where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day."

Fallout 5

Developer: Bethesda Game Studios

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Release date: TBC

Platform(s): TBC

As one of the longest-running IPs now owned by Bethesda, another Fallout entry has always been on the cards. In fact, even before it was addressed by Todd Howard, seeing a Fallout 5 someday felt inevitable, given the success of Fallout 4. We don't yet know much about our return to the post-apocalyptic world, but as of July 2026, Bethesda confirmed the game is officially in pre-production.

Of course, the studio previously announced it would be working on The Elder Scrolls 6 first, with Fallout 5 to come after. With that in mind, if The Elder Scrolls 6 were to very optimistically release in, say, 2027 (although that seems less likely by the day), we would be, in theory, looking at a 2030 release date for Fallout 5. All that's to say, this one is far out, but it's exciting to know we have a new entry to look forward to. While you wait, you can reflect back with us on the best Fallout games.

Fallout 3 Remaster

Developer: Bethesda Game Studios

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Release date: TBC

Platform(s): TBC

After a lot of rumor and speculation, Bethesda Game Studios officially revealed in July 2026 that we're set to someday see a Fallout 3 remaster. While the studio confirmed its been working to bring the 2008 RPG into the modern era, we're light on details for the time being, with Bethesda stating it won't be announcing a date for its release just yet.

We're now waiting to find out more about the shape of the remaster and how it will update the Fallout adventure set in Washington DC. We can likely expect visual enhancements to make it shine on modern hardware, but we're curious to see if any new content will be added.

Fallout: New Vegas Remaster

Release date: TBC

Platform(s): TBC

Alongside the news of a Fallout 3 Remaster, Bethesda also confirmed its working on a Fallout: New Vegas Remaster, too. The 2010 RPG was developed by Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 developer, Obsidian Entertainment, but it's unclear at this time if Obsidian is involved in the Remaster. Still, given that Obsidian is teaming up with Bethesda to work on something new, they may well have input from the studio or devs who originally worked on New Vegas.

Often considered one of the best RPGs with choices that really matter in the Fallout series, fans everywhere have been hoping to see the post-apocalyptic adventure that follows a courier in the Mojave desert get the shiny remastered treatment. While we're still waiting to learn more about New Vegas' comeback - with the studio yet to reveal a release date or remaster details - it's exciting to know it's in the works.

New Fallout Project

Publisher: TBC

Release date: TBC

Platform(s): TBC

In Bethesda's big announcement update regarding its future projects in July 2026, the studio revealed it's working with Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment on as an as yet unnamed "new Fallout Project".

"The wasteland continues to expand as we team up once again with our longtime friends at Obsidian Entertainment," Bethesda writes. "We're happy to confirm they're working with us on a new Fallout project. We'll have more to share in the future." We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more on this one!

Marvel's Blade

Developer: Arkane Studios

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Release date: TBC

Platform(s): PC, Xbox Series X

Bethesda is on board as the publisher for the upcoming Marvel game, Marvel's Blade. Originally announced in 2023, it's been some time since we had a major update on the project. Set to be coming from Dishonored and Deathloop's Arkane Studios, the developer addressed rumors surrounding the possible cancellation of Marvel's Blade in June 2026, with Jean-Luc Monnet, lead concept artist and art director assistant, reaffirming it's still the on the way.

In July 2026, however, there was some major restructuring at Xbox, which has sadly seen lots of layoffs, with some studios departing from the Xbox Game Studios list. Among them, Arkane has begun "required consultation", and we're still awaiting word on the future of the studio and Blade. At this time, though, it's still believed to be on the way, and it's expected that Blade's gameplay will be stealth and combat-focused, given the nature of the Marvel Comics' character.

Look ahead to future releases with our roundups of all the most exciting upcoming PS5 games, upcoming PC games, or upcoming Xbox Series X games on the way.
