Ubisoft just added more than 80 games to Xbox on PC, but there's a catch

Ubisoft has just expanded its presence on Xbox Game Pass by adding more than 80 titles, though there is one caveat. Despite that, the update gives PC players another way to browse and purchase some of their favorite games from Ubisoft’s library, including many of the publisher’s biggest franchises.

Recently, Ubisoft revealed that the rest of 2026 will be light on major game releases, outside of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. That said, the company should be quite alright despite that, given that the remake of 2013's Assassin's Creed 4 had been highly anticipated and was a hit right out of the gate, selling a whopping 2 million copies in one day. And that doesn't mean that the publisher will have no more titles to look forward to in the second half of the year. Rayman Legends Retold will be launching in October, which should pair nicely with the 30th anniversary edition of the original Rayman that was released for modern platforms in February.

Xbox for PC Gamers Now Have Access to 80+ Ubisoft Titles

Over on Reddit, user Narrow_Leek2452 noticed that multiple Ubisoft titles were now available for purchase on the Xbox Store. The number, it turns out, is more than 80, including titles from The Division, Assassin’s Creed, and Far Cry franchises, among many others. The catch, however, is that purchasing the games in this way simply unlocks them on Ubisoft Connect, the proprietary launcher used to play first-party Ubisoft games on PC. This means Xbox will be acting merely as another storefront while the actual Ubisoft launcher experience will remain the same. Nevertheless, the move may provide convenience for gamers who spend a lot of time in the Xbox ecosystem.

The additions also lack some of the Xbox ecosystem features that PC players may have expected. Because buying these games is essentially unlocking them for Ubisoft Connect, they are not Xbox Play Anywhere titles. This means they do not support Xbox achievements on PC or cross-save functionality, so progress and purchases will not carry between the console and PC. Many gamers have become very accustomed to Xbox Play Anywhere and being able to load up a game they've purchased once on their PC, console, or supported mobile devices.

The expanded lineup includes some of Ubisoft's most ambitious games like Rainbow Six, Watch Dogs, Prince of Persia, and The Crew, along with several deluxe and ultimate editions. Notably, Ghost Recon Wildlands is among the more than 80 titles, which fans recently discovered will be getting a definitive edition for $99.99 on consoles and PC. Though there has been no release date revealed as yet, fans are expecting that more may be shared on August 6, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise.
