JD Vance and his wife, Usha, welcomed their fourth child, a baby boy named Alec Neel Vance, on Sunday, July 19, 2026. The couple announced the news in a statement on social media. Donald Trump also congratulated the couple by sharing a picture of their children, which also included their newborn son. However, the congratulatory post was met with criticism on the internet.

The Vance family’s statement read, “We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.” They also offered gratitude to the staff members of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where the Second Lady delivered her fourth child.

Donald Trump Congratulates JD Vance and Usha Vance on Welcoming Their Fourth Child

Shortly after this, Trump also posted on X to congratulate the vice president and his wife. He shared a picture of two of Vance’s kids bonding with their newborn brother. One of them could also be seen holding baby Alec in his lap. He captioned the post: “A perfect baby boy for the wonderful Vance family.”

However, the internet soon criticized the congratulatory post shared by the president for the Vances. The backlash mainly stemmed from JD Vance’s anti-immigration stance despite being married to Usha Vance, whose parents immigrated from India.

Social media users also took a sharp dig at ICE detention facilities spearheaded by the MAGA administration, which has often come under scrutiny in recent times for allegedly detaining children.

A user shared a screenshot of the picture shared by the POTUS of JD and Usha’s children, where the comment said, “I thought this was a picture of kids in ICE custody until I read Trump’s comment.”

Social Media User Label JD Vance a ‘Hypocrite’

Another X user took a sharp dig at JD Vance’s anti-immigration stance and chimed in, “This guy is such a hypocrite. He is a racist.” Taking a jibe at the vice president’s book, Hillbilly Elegy, another comment read, “The Indian genes are more dominant than Vance’s hillbilly genes.”

Another user on X took a dig at the Trump administration’s stringent deportation policies and wrote, “If only they’d deport Vance’s kids too.” This was a reference to his own children being biracial.

Dragging Stephen Miller into the debate, one of the anti-MAGA comments read, “Stephen Miller would argue that none of the children pictured here are Americans.”

A social media user stated, “God did not joke by making his kids really Indian looking.” An X user added, “How ironic that the VP of the admin pushing to expel every brown immigrant from this country has kids that look just like those brown people’s kids.”

JD Vance and Usha Vance, who tied the knot on June 14, 2014, after meeting at Yale Law School, are already parents to three children, namely Ewan (9), Vivek (6), and Mirabel (4).
