TRUMBULL - A Trumbull police officer for more than two decades was recently suspended from his job for three and a half weeks, and issued other disciplinary actions.
Members of the Police Commission, during a June meeting, unanimously approved Chief Michael Lombardo's recommendation of a 24-day, unpaid suspension for Officer Steven Anderson, according to the meeting minutes.
Anderson, the police union, and commission Chairman Dawn Cantafio did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Besides the unpaid suspension, the commission also approved mandatory de-escalation and anger management training, and a fit-for-duty psychological examination before Anderson is allowed to return to work.
The reason for the suspension was not announced publicly; the commission members met in a closed-door executive session.
No other details are currently available.
Anderson has worked for the department for 21 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
