The leader of the Dinobots and the leader of the Decepticons take heavy damage in the newest convention-exclusive Transformers action figures.

The year 2026 has been particularly kind to Transformersfans, with numerous toy releases finding their way into store aisles and at conventions. Now, two previously released action figures are getting all scuffed up for one of these conventions, with fans soon being able to grab them for themselves.

New images have been revealed for ACGHK 2026 Hasbro Hong Kong Fan Expo Exclusive Studio Series "Battle Damage" Grimlock & Megatron. These are reduxes of previous figures in the Transformers Studio Series line, albeit with much more wear and tear on their exterior. Ready to roll out at their corresponding convention, these are being released at just the right time given the movie they correspond with.

As noted, the newly revealed redecos for Megatron and Grimlock are repaints of their toys in the Transformers Studio Series 86 series. These figures are based on the characters that appeared in 1986's The Transformers: The Movie, which is now turning 40 years old. One major exception to this rule, however, was Megatron himself, who unfortunately had to undergo something of a makeover to get with the times.

Due to the potential controversy of recreating his realistic Walther P38 gun mode from Generation 1, Megatron now turns into a tank, even if this alternate mode wasn't what he transformed into in the movie. As a compromise, he has a small firearm that resembles his classic gun mode, with his other weapons including his iconic fusion cannon and the lightsaber-like energy sword he used against Autobot leader Optimus Prime in the film.

Conversely, Grimlock still transforms into a robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex, with his accessories including a blaster for robot mode and a small non-transforming figure of the Autobot child Wheelie. The big difference between these releases and their initial versions is that they bear battle damage, with Megatron's design resembling the damage received at the end of his final battle against Optimus Prime.

These toys will be sold at the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2026 event, but it won't simply be a matter of buying them outright. Instead, those who make purchases of $4500 Hong Kong dollars (roughly US$575) will receive one or the other. There are only 40 units of each, so these are guaranteed to be must-have collector's items.

The Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2026 event takes place from July 24-28 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, so fans who plan on attending will hopefully be able to earn these toys in a few days.
