Jonas Brothers fans say Ticketmaster prevented them from buying tickets for the band's upcoming Madison Square Garden concerts after incorrectly identifying their accounts as bots.
The complaints emerged during the July 9 artist presale for "Jonas Brothers: The Burning Up Tour All Over Again," according to TicketNews and posts shared by affected fans on X. Buyers reported receiving messages claiming Ticketmaster had detected "suspicious or automated activity," leaving them unable to complete their purchases.
"I tried to buy Jonas Brothers tickets today, but you wouldn't let my account in because it said I was a bot," one fan wrote in a post cited by TicketNews.
Another user pointed to their history of legitimate purchases while expressing frustration with the restriction: "IM NOT A F---ING BOT! LOOK AT MY TICKET HISTORY!"
TicketNews cited complaints from several X accounts, including @LAFouttloud, @htxjonas, @Chey_See and @zoececkem. The reports came directly from fans attempting to participate in the presale rather than from secondary ticketing or aggregation accounts.
Ticketmaster subsequently told some affected customers that the problem had been resolved, according to the outlet. However, the company did not publicly explain what triggered the bot warnings or how many buyers were affected. TicketNews said it contacted Ticketmaster for comment but had not received a response when its report was published.
The Jonas Brothers have not publicly addressed the reported purchase errors.
The problems occurred as demand surged for the band's nostalgic return to Madison Square Garden. The group initially announced concerts for Aug. 20 and 21 before adding a third show on Aug. 22. Ticketmaster now lists all three performances, each scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
"The Burning Up Tour All Over Again" revisits the Jonas Brothers' 2008 era, when songs including "Burnin' Up," "S.O.S." and "When You Look Me in the Eyes" helped establish Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas as one of the period's defining pop groups. The new run gives longtime fans an opportunity to experience that material in an arena setting nearly two decades later.
The artist presale began July 9, followed by the general ticket sale on July 10. Although the purchasing window has moved beyond its initial presale phase, the complaints remain another example of the difficulty legitimate customers can encounter when ticketing platforms attempt to identify and block automated buyers.
Ticketmaster uses bot-detection systems to prevent automated programs from rapidly purchasing large quantities of tickets. In this case, however, fans said those protections blocked actual Jonas Brothers listeners while they were trying to secure seats for the MSG shows.
