Who doesn’t need more storage? This clever hack from TikTok creator Cole (@bibbidi.bobbidi.beard) uses the space on the front of your closet to create a hanging storage solution for a variety of items.
He hangs up a wire rack to display his large collection of bag charms, but there are a few simple things you can add that will give you storage solutions for a variety of items.

Using The Door
Using the front door of his closet, Cole mounts a wire rack to clip his bag charms, but this clever hack doesn’t have to stop there. Space like the front of a closet door is often wasted, so finding a way to reimagine it to be useful gives you more options.
If you rent and don’t want to drill into your closet door, see if an over-the-door hanger system would work. I use a towel rack that fits over the top of the door to give myself extra space in the bathroom, and this is the same idea.
More Than Just Clip-On Things
Cole uses his rack to clip on his large collection of bag charms. If, like me, your bag charms only number in the single digits, you can still use this storage solution in a variety of other ways.
S-hooks slide easily over the metal grid and can hold bags, hats, scarves, or anything else with a handle. Speaking of scarves, you can thread them through the grid to store them without the hooks.
You could also get hanging baskets that hang from rods or peg boards to store smaller items like makeup, craft supplies, or jewelry.
Want a closet wall that looks like a well-styled outfit in a fancy dressing room? Use this rack to hang your clothes and let your closet double as a rotating outfit display.

Something to Consider
If you can’t or don’t want to drill into your closet door and over-the-door solutions aren’t feasible, consider mounting a wire rack to a decorated piece of plywood or a stylish wooden ladder. You can lean it against the wall to get the same result. It’s sleeker than a large set of shelves and gives you the ability to display everything in plain sight, so you keep all of your items in rotation.
Vertical storage solutions often utilize ignored spaces. Cole’s hack for creating this metal grid for a closet door might have been to display his very niche collection of bag charms, but you can steal his idea for a variety of other storage solutions as well. Your imagination is the limit.
