Former Chelsea centre-back Malang Sarr is set to join Saudia Arabian side SC Neom, Fabrizio Romano reports.

The defender has rejected offers to play in Europe in favour of a move to the Saudi Pro League.

However, Barthez does not currently hold the required goalkeeping coaching qualification.

The French Football Federation and Zidane want every member of the staff to be fully qualified in order to set the right example, so the incoming manager has reportedly looked into arranging for Barthez to complete the course quickly.

Chelsea have Scott bid rejected

Chelsea have seen a bid worth £60million rejected by Bournemouth for Alex Scott.

The Blues submitted a shock offer for the midfielder, who could leave Dorset after turning down multiple offers of a new contract from the Cherries.

Widespread reports claim that Xabi Alonso’s side put in an offer, but Bournemouth insist that the young star is not for sale.

Newcastle make Tomori enquiry

Newcastle United have made enquiries over a summer move for AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori, Corrierre dello Sport claims.

Coventry City are also pursuing the 28-year-old, with the Serie A side reportedly valuing him between €15million and €20m.

Tomori is considering his options as Milan look to sell him before his contract expires in 2027.

Andrew Crofts has joined Tottenham as a first-team coach from Brighton.

PSG pull out of Bouaddi race

Bournemouth issue hands-off Scott warning

Bournemouth view Alex Scott as being not for sale this summer despite the midfielder rejecting a new contract, the Press Association reports.

Scott, who featured in England’s training camp in Miami before he missed out on the 25-man World Cup squad, has two years to run on his current terms with the south coast club.

An impressive 2025-26 campaign, where Scott scored four times in 39 appearances, has earned admirers at Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but Bournemouth’s stance on the 22-year-old remains unchanged.

Sources at Bournemouth indicated that Scott is not currently valued at any price because he is deemed unsellable this summer.

QPR land Lamptey

Former Chelsea and Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey has joined QPR on a free transfer after leaving Serie A club Fiorentina.

Lamptey – who represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup and has won 11 caps – made 122 appearances for Brighton before moving to Italy last September.

“I’m excited for the opportunity ahead,” Lamptey, 25, told the official club website.

“The team have ambitious goals for this season, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Ipswich land new keeper

Ipswich have signed Dutch goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen from Volendam.

Van Oevelen, 22, joins the newly promoted club on a five-year deal for a reported fee of four million euros (£3.4m).

“As soon as I knew Ipswich were interested, it was a move I knew I wanted to make,” Kayne said on the Suffolk club’s website.

“It is an exciting time for the club, being back in the Premier League, and I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and getting started.”

Town boss Gary O’Neil is confident Van Oevelen can prove a solid addition to his squad.

“He is a young goalkeeper who has had a good taste of senior football with Volendam and wants to continue to progress his career in England,” O’Neil said.

Duran signs for Benfica

Former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has joined Benfica on a season-long loan deal from Al-Nassr with a view to making a permanent £25.5m switch.

The 22-year-old Colombia international, a team-mate of Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia, will spend the 2026-27 season with the Portuguese club, who have paid 6.1m Euros – around £5.2m – for his services and also negotiated a 30m Euros option to buy.

Duran, who joined Al-Nassr in a £64m switch from Villa in January 2025, told Benfica’s official website: “I’m very grateful to God, just as I said when I arrived. I’m happy! I still say that it’s the biggest club in Portugal. I’m very grateful to be here.

“I have very high expectations for my time here. I want to play well, give it my all and become a champion.”

PSG target Torres

Paris St Germain are keen to sign Barcelona’s World Cup winner Ferran Torres, L’Equipe claims.

The 26-year-old, who scored the only goal in Spain’s final victory over Argentina on Sunday, has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at the Nou Camp, and the Champions League winners want to lure him to the Parc des Princes this summer.

Man Utd youngster eyes loan

Young Manchester United star Jacob Devaney is looking to leace the club on loan to further his development and play first-team football.

The midfielder spent the second half of last season in Scotland with St Mirren, and has revealed that he would be willing to leave Old Trafford to secure mroe regular minutes.

"Obviously I want to play first-team football, whether that be at Manchester United for the next year or not," he said.

"The main aim and goal for me is to play for Manchester United week in, week out.

"So whether I have to go on loan again and gain more valuable experience like I did at St Mirren, or whether that be in the building, learning from the best which is here at Manchester United, we'll see what happens."

Ipswich set to sign Maeda

Sky Sports reports that they have agreed a £10million deal to land Celtic’s Japan international Daizen Maeda.

Rodri dreams of Real

Rodri would love a return to Spain and dreams of a move Real Madrid, Fabrizio Romano reports.

However, Florentino Perez, the Real president, has always blocked a deal or any negotiations for Rodri this summer.

The midfielder has a new contract on the table from Manchester City, who offered it to the Spaniard back in April.

Abdul Fatawu has completed his medical ahead of his move from Leicester to Ipswich.

Sky Sports reports that the winger will move for a £23million package deal.

The Saudi side are confident of being the Italians after they presented a huge proposal, with a higher salary offered to the Dutch winger.

Martinez considering future

Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is considering his international future after suffering the heartache of World Cup final defeat.

The 33-year-old Aston Villa player, who picked up a winners’ medal in Qatar four years ago, was devastated on the final whistle in New Jersey on Sunday evening as Spain wrenched the trophy from his grasp.

Now he has hinted that he may call time on his international career in the wake of that disappointment.

In a post on his official Instagram account, Martinez wrote: “I dreamed of winning it again; I dreamed of bringing it back to Argentina and making history once more.

“Honestly, the pain is hard to put into words. Now I have to reflect on many things, see how to move forward, and decide if it’s time to step aside.

“I am truly sorry. I gave it my all to help my country and my team-mates.”

Boro set to land Lankshear

Middlesbrough are set to win the race to sign Tottenham forward Will Lankshear, the Press Association reports.

Lankshear, 21, earned plaudits during a successful loan at Oxford in the 2025-26 season where he scored 12 times in 47 appearances and gained interest from clubs in England and overseas.

Ex-Sheffield United striker Lankshear remained hopeful of being given a chance by Spurs this summer after an excellent campaign in the Championship, but with a pathway to the senior set-up blocked, he has been allowed to leave after an agreement for a package which could rise to £20million was reached.

Personal terms are still to be agreed, but after Middlesbrough attempted to sign Lankshear in January, Boro boss Kim Hellberg looks likely to finally get his man.

Man City 'reach Ayyoub Bouaddi agreement'

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi, as Elliot Anderson prepares to finalise his move.

Man City have been rather quiet in the summer transfer window so far, with their confirmed signings not expected to have any impact on the first-team picture next season.

Mathys Detourbet has arrived from sister club Troyes, though has been loaned out to Monaco for the season. The same applies to goalkeeper Pierce Charles as he will continue his development in the Championship with Queens Park Rangers (QPR).

Elsewhere, City have pipped Arsenal to the signing of highly-rated youngster Jeremy Monga and it would appear they are set to sign another of the Gunners’ transfer targets.

Arsenal have been among those interested in Bouaddi and held initial talks over a summer deal as Mikel Arteta sought to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new season.

However, reports in Italy claim Man City are now leading the race for the Morocco international’s signature, reaching an agreement in principle with the Lille midfielder for a contract until 2031.

Alasdair Gold has reliably informed the world that personal terms between Will Lankshear and Middlesbrough is almost sorted now and medical expected to take place later today.

DEAL AGREED

Football.london’s Alasdair Gold has reported that Tottenham have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough worth £14million for Will Lankshear.

It is understood the deal could rise to £20m eventually with add-ons.

That said, Lankshear is still to agree personal terms with other clubs interested, but Boro are in the driving seat for his signature.

Liverpool confirm new arrival as Andoni Iraola's plans take shape

Andoni Iraola’s plans at Liverpool are continuing to take shape with the appointment of a new first-team goalkeeping coach.

As part of Iraola’s move from Bournemouth, he has brought Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper and Pablo de la Torre along with him to make up a new-look Liverpool backroom staff.

Meanwhile, analyst Tom Webber has also made the switch to Merseyside from the South Coast.

Those arrivals were confirmed at the start of July and the Reds have since another new addition in the form of Alejandro Rosalen as the goalkeeping coach, replacing Xavi Valero after he left at the end of the 2025-26 season.

According to TEAMtalk, the Magpies are ready to dip into their warchest having raised £170m so far by selling Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

Elijah Upson has turned down Tottenham's offer of a professional contract in order to join Arsenal.

The 18-year-old centre-back is the son of Matthew Upson, the former Arsenal and England defender.

His son seems set to follow in his footsteps, with the highly-rated defender prepared to move across north London to join his father’s former club.

Upson was offered a professional contract when his Tottenham scholarship terms expired on June 30, 2026, but turned down the offer and has since accepted a move to Arsenal.

Tottenham confirm four new arrivals

Tottenham have announced the arrival of four new backroom staff members ahead of next season.

Roberto De Zerbi's former No2, Andrew Crofts, has joined from Brighton as an assistant coach, while Ali James (head of medical services), Tom Tombleson (head of athletic development) and Agostino Tibaudi (strength and conditioning coach) have been added to the club's performance department.

Crofts, who arrives shortly after first-team academy transition coach Stuart Lewis departed for Ipswich, was on the coaching staff during De Zerbi's time at Brighton and most recently served as an assistant coach to Fabian Hurzeler.

Paris Saint-Germain have pulled out of the race to sign midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The Lille midfielder been linked with a host of top clubs across Europe this summer, including Arsenal and Manchester City.

But L'Equipe says PSG will not pursuing a deal for the 18-year-old, or any other midfielder this summer.

Issa Diop set for Fulham exit

Ipswich have reached an agreement to sign Fulham centre-back Issa Diop in a deal believed to be worth around £8.5million.

Lucas Bergvall remains keen to leave Tottenham this summer despite the club rejecting offers for him, as he prepares to return for pre-season this week.

The midfielder’s representatives informed Spurs last month that he wanted a transfer.

Bergvall sees himself as a No8 and is disappointed with the lack of opportunities in that position at Tottenham, particularly since Roberto De Zerbi took charge.
