It's hard to believe that Game of Thrones first debuted 15 years ago now, though back in 2015, fans of the show never would have imagined the extent of its impact on popular culture since then. 15 years later, HBO's Game of Thrones is officially making a comeback with a brand-new trick-taking game inspired by the series called Masters of Intrigue. It's a fast-paced tabletop card game from Resurrection Games that brings the political scheming of Westeros into a compact trick-taking experience.
Inspired by HBO's Game of Thrones, the game is designed for 3–5 players and recommended for ages 11 and up, and plays in roughly 15–25 minutes, making it ideal for quick game nights or as a fun party game with other GoT enthusiasts. Retailing for $24.95, it officially launched in June before receiving a wider promotional push alongside HBO's celebration of the franchise's 15th anniversary.
While it isn't exactly a full-fledged strategy game, Masters of Intrigue offers a lightweight and affordable way for Game of Thrones fans to participate in the backstabbing and political maneuvering that made the series so memorable. It gives players a chance to take on the role of one of the great Houses, such as House Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Greyjoy, Tyrell, etc., each with their own unique "Master of Intrigue," which serves as the most powerful card in each deck.

Despite a controversial ending, Game of Thrones is still among the most iconic and beloved fantasy series out there, HBO is far from finished with the ASOIF universe. While it's been 15 years since the show first aired, the characters and scenes in the series are still referenced across popular culture today.
The unforgettable performances and shocking twists and turns are still the most complete version of George R. R. Martin's original story that we have, especially considering the author has yet to complete the books and give readers a proper conclusion. So while the finale may still be divisive to this day, there's no denying Game of Thrones' success and staying power after 15 years.
