'The Chosen' cast joins Bear Grylls on new adventure

July 23 (UPI) -- The cast of the popular faith-based drama, The Chosen, will soon be seen in a new six-part reality series with adventurer Bear Grylls.

The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls premieres Aug. 9 on Prime Video.

"Jonathan Roumie (Jesus), Paras Patel (Matthew), Elizabeth Tabish (Mary Magdalene), Noah James (Andrew), Luke Dimyan (Judas), and series creator and executive producer Dallas Jenkins trade the set for the wilderness as they leap from planes, scale cliffs, eat scorpions, zipline over canyons, and navigate some of the country's most rugged terrain under the guidance of renowned adventurer Bear Grylls," the streaming service said in a press release.

A trailer released Wednesday shows the stars skydiving, rock climbing, zip lining and canoeing.
