Merisa Libbey has been inside her fair share of houses—beautiful ones. As a Los Angeles-based interiors and prop stylist, she’s zhuzhed fashion designer Christy Dawn’s rustic Canyon home, DJ Amrit Tietz’s sun-soaked patio, and ceramicist Beth Katz’s cozy Mount Washington cottage, among many others. For each shoot, Libbey hauls a Hulken bag’s-worth of products through the front door to complement beds, tables, and sofas in the form of pillows, napkins, and throws.
One of her favorite places to source items is Nickey Kehoe, which stocks its own line of L.A.-made furniture, lighting, and more, as well as a strong selection of open shelving-worthy brands. Founded in 2008 by designers Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe, the home store has brick-and-mortar locations in California and New York, and the pair also designs a number of commercial and residential spaces.
Below, Libbey shares her favorite products to procure from the designer-loved and editor-trusted shop.
Tapletop
Picking the right plates and bowls is an easy way to make a table feel considered. I’m constantly looking for pieces that have personality but still mix effortlessly with what people already own.
Enamelware Salad Bowls
I’m completely obsessed with the new enamelware collection. The colors remind me of vintage enamelware but feel completely fresh. They’re perfect for summer entertaining outdoors and I love pairing them with the shop’s beautiful table linens for a layered look that feels collected rather than overly styled.

Furniture
Nickey Kehoe’s furniture is all handmade in family-owned and operated workrooms around Los Angeles. It’s timeless yet a little whimsical, and comes in all kinds of cool upholstery. PLus, there are wood options painted in select Farrow & Ball colors.
Fireplace Pull Up Chair
I pulled a pair of these chairs, upholstered in a yellow check fabric, for a shoot and they completely transformed the room. They brought so much charm and whimsy to the space while still feeling timeless. The homeowner loved them so much that they ended up purchasing the pair afterward—a pretty good testament to just how special they are.

Bedding
Bedding is one of my favorite categories to shop because it’s where a bedroom can really show off personality. I always look for versatile pieces that can be mixed with solids, stripes, or florals to create a scene that feels layered and personal.

Duvet In Madras Plaid, Full/Queen
This plaid makes an ideal foundation for layering. It has enough pattern to add interest and to pair with other prints and textures, making it incredibly versatile. It’s the kind of bedding that can evolve with the seasons simply by swapping pillows or a quilt.

Bath
I never overlook bath linens as they’re one of those everyday essentials that can quietly elevate a space. Plush, beautifully made towels instantly make a bathroom feel more luxurious.

Bath Set in Clara Stripe
I love these because the stripe adds just the right amount of character without overwhelming a space. They’re functional, soft, and bring a thoughtful design element to something you use every single day.

Outdoor
Outdoor spaces deserve the same attention as interiors, and I’m always looking for furniture that feels timeless instead of trendy.
Adirondack Chair
I’ve had my eye on this chair because it strikes that perfect balance between classic and elevated . It’s a fresh take on a familiar silhouette and feels like the kind of investment piece you’ll still love years from now.
Cafe Chair
Another hit: The clean silhouette of a cafe chair makes it incredibly versatile. You could pair it with everything from a rustic farmhouse table to a sleek modern dining table and it would feel right at home. Plus, Nickey Kehoe’s version stacks, making it just as practical as it is stylish.
