Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers are already dealing with some major injury news.

NFL reporter Ari Meirov shares the latest on right tackle Taylor Moton, who will reportedly miss the start of the 2026 NFL season — which is notable to us because the Panthers are set to provide the competition for the Chicago Bears in Week 1:

Injury Bug Hits the Carolina Panthers, Who Are the Bears’ Week 1 Opponent

The Taylor Moton injury news is just one of several issues the team is dealing with as the injury bug takes some early nibbles at the Panthers:

・Cornerback Jaycee Horn is joining Moton on the non-football injury list. Horn has a cut on his foot that will keep him out of action for a little bit, but it sounds like he will be ready during the early batches of training camp practices.

・Left tackle Ikem Ekwonu will also miss some time during training camp. Ekwonu suffered a patellar tendon injury in the team’s playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams in January and is still in recovery mode.

For what it’s worth, the Panthers have some useful depth options they can plug into their offensive line while two starters are on the mend. During free agency, Carolina signed Rasheed Walker to a one-year deal. Walker spent the last three seasons starting for the Green Bay Packers. Additionally, the Panthers used the No. 18 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling. I imagine that getting those guys some extra reps now will benefit the team later.

2026 CHICAGO BEARS SCHEDULE

Bears players will start rolling into training camp in the coming days. Hopefully, we won’t have much to write about regarding player injuries. Last year, cornerback Jaylon Johnson started training camp on the non-football injury list. It was an inauspicious start to the year for Johnson, one I hope that he and his teammates can avoid this summer.
