Texas Monthly Taco Fest South
This delayed celebration of all things taco - it was originally set for May but was canceled due to expected bad weather - finally arrives at Discovery Green this weekend. Expect to be able to taste tacos from a variety of Texas restaurants, all from Texas Monthly's top 50 list or the 25 best new or improved taquerias list. They include Cochinita & Co., The Original Ninfa's Jar BM BBQ and more.

The Black Keys
The duo that helped define the alt-rock sound of the 2010's with such hits as "Gold on the Ceiling" and "Lonely Boy" comes to Houston on the heels of a new album, "Peaches!" The bluesy guitar work of Dan Auerbach gets kicked into overdrive by the punchy percussion of drummer Patrick Carney and it all should gloriously come together under the stars on the lawn of White Oak Music Hall.

'The Girl on the Train'
The Alley Theater's Summer Chills mystery series kicks off with this stage adaptation of the popular novel from Paula Hawkins and the film starring Emily Blunt. Elizabeth Bunch stars as Rachel, a woman who becomes obsessed with two people she sees from her train window during her commute.

Bryan Adams
The Canadian vocalist-guitarist who sang "Summer of '69" is back in the summer of 2026 with a recent album, "Roll with the Punches," to promote as well as a new single, "51st State," which was recorded in response to president Trump's desires to make the singer's homeland the 51st state of the U.S. Opening the show is Pat Benatar so it's going to be a 1980s rock'n'roll night.

Jill Biden
The former First Lady, on the road with her new memoir, "View from the East Wing," is coming to Houston for a conversation with Progressive Forum founding executive director Randall Morton. The $154 VIP tickets include a pre-event receiving line with Dr. Biden in the green room.

The Coronation Theater
Houston is getting a revamped comedy spot this week. The Coronation Theater, a home for improv comedy, classes and corporate training, is inaugurating its new Second Ward space this weekend with the show "HTX Game Night." The performance will be followed by socializing on the bar and patio

Not For Radio/A Summer in the Forest
Maria Zardoya is best-known as the singer with the hit indie-pop band The Marias. But that group is not all that's keeping her busy these days. She has this side Not for Radio side project that includes the 2025 album, "Melt," which is described as "intimate psychedelic ballads, imbued with a touch of Gothic romanticism."
