Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans is sharing a rare update on 16-year-old son Jace after he allegedly pulled a gun on his grandmother Barbara Evans.
"And here's a real update about Jace. From what I choose to share, he's working on himself and focusing on his emotions. He's obviously had ups and downs but I'm hoping for the best in his future. Here's some awesome pictures of his progress," Jenelle, 34, wrote via Instagram on Monday, July 20.
Alongside the message, Jenelle shared several photos of her son through the years. In one pic, Jace gave a soft smile for the camera as he strummed a guitar.
"I've had countless night of crying over the past 6 months because i want him to be happy and will do whatever it takes to help him mentally and physically," Jenelle concluded. "As his mother I WILL NOT give up. 🥹❤️🩹 #TeamJace."

News broke in March that Jenelle's mother, Barbara, had filed for emergency custody of Jace.
That month, TMZ reported that Jace had been placed in a mental health facility after allegedly pulling a gun on Barbara in late February. The outlet claimed that the incident occurred while Jace was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. (At the time, Jace was living with Barbara in North Carolina. Jenelle is based in Las Vegas with her two younger children Kaiser, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith, and Ensley, whom she welcomed with David Eason.)
Barbara's motion for custody was ultimately denied. Jace's father, Andrew Lewis, went on to start a GoFundMe to raise money for "medical and legal" expenses for Jace.
"We - Jace's father and grandmother - are trying everything we can to bring him home to his grandma's house to live, but are currently facing massive medical and legal expenses to do so," Lewis claimed. "During the last month, people who are concerned and care for Jace have reached out to ask how they can help us in our fight for Jace, leading us to create this fundraiser. Anything left over will be for his future medical needs."

Jenelle, however, released a statement to Us and called the crowdsourcing initiative a "scam."
"My son is FULLY covered by health insurance, and I AM currently handling and paying for all of his medical care," she alleged. "Beware this is a scam for anyone that has donated."
In April, Jenelle promised her followers that Jace was in a good place.
"I'll let you know something that I haven't told anyone," Jenelle said during an episode of the "La Femme Talk" podcast at the time. "You know I've been very quiet online, and behind the scenes, I've been actually getting help for my son as needed, and he's in a safe place [in a] holistic approach."
Jenelle shared that Jace was "very happy right now" and "very focused on himself."
"I think that's the most important thing," she explained. "A lot of people, they think since I'm being so quiet that I might not be doing anything and not taking action. But just know that if I'm quiet, I'm up to something."
